red and green.
Which colors should i mix to get black?
Black is not a combination of color but is the absence of color.

Try mixing the Three Primaries Equally. Other than that if you have ultramarine blue and burnt sienna mix them. Good Luck
Reply:You don%26#039;t. You can get darker colors by mixing different colors together, but there%26#039;s no way of mixing colors to get black. Black %26amp; white are not colors. Mixing all three primary colors (Blue, Yellow, Red) will only give you brown. Ultramarine %26amp; Phtalo blues can be used to get a dark shadowy affect though, but not black.
Reply:Ultramarine blue and burnt siena make a great, rich, vibrant black.
You can also mix any complimentary colors (ie, red/ green, blue/ orange, purple/ yellow) to eventually get black.
Reply:I always use purple green and brown to get black
Reply:mixing complementary colors can get you some very dark browns, since technically there is no such thing as the color black in nature just really dark browns and blues and so on, so you don%26#039;t really need true black in a nature painting in most cases (in nature black is the absence of light) But with painting, we mix together a bunch of colors and call it black.
Try ultramarine with an earth color, or for something a bit darker try:
Prussian blue, alizarin crimson, and an earth color (my favorite is burnt sienna, but burnt umber, raw sienna, and raw umber work as well).
Hope that helps,
Lauren
